The National Arts Festival, considered second to the Edinburgh Festival takes place annually in Grahamstown. Dates for 2010 Festival are: 20 June - 8 July

Grahamstown is central to the regions numerous World Class game reserves in this malaria-free region, including Kwandwe and Shamwari.

This historic educational city, is home to internationally acclaimed Rhodes University, which currently has approximately 6500 students. Rhodes Grad took place at the beginning of April 2010.
